Wave power has the potential to produce vast amounts of clean, renewable energy. There are disadvantages to harnessing this energy a long way out to sea but as fossil fuels become scarce the costs will become relatively cheap. But how can we estimate how much energy is in a wave?. Mr Drew develops a simple model to calculate the power/length of a wave which is needed in the IB Physics syllabus. You should consider how reasonable this model is and see if you can modify it to improve it. This video will support your learning in IB Physics topic 8; energy, power and climate change (GEP)
