The Diepholzer Moor is an important staging area for Common Cranes during their autumn migration. Up to 80.000 birds visit the area during a few weeks in October-November. They spent the night in the moors around Diepholz and feed on the farmland during the day.
This short movie shows you one day of the cranes in this time, from the early morning in the moors, to the daytime feeding and the spectacular return in the evening. Their trumpeter sound can be heard throughout the day and makes this one of the better nature spectacles of Europe.
