Video Updates: City of Goldsboro Streetscape Project is Underway
GOLDSBORO, N.C. – Phase I of the City of Goldsboro’s Center Street Streetscape Project began on Monday, May 14, along the 200 block of North Center St. from Ash St. to Mulberry St.
Members of the Goldsboro community will find Center St. blocked off at the Ash St. traffic circle as well as where Center St. meets Mulberry St. Anyone needing access to City Hall during the project can park in the City’s rear parking lot or along Mulberry St. via James St. or John St; this same parking can be used for Pet Village. Parking for Direct Carpet can be found along Ash St, and Little Bank parking is located along Mulberry St. All sidewalks along Center St. will remain open during construction.
During the next two weeks Daniels and Daniels Construction Company will focus on above-ground work at the construction site. The community will see asphalt, curb, center median and landscape removal along Center St. A fence has been installed around the construction site, one that allows a full view of project progress from the northbound sidewalk.
In an effort to disseminate important project information to the public, the City of Goldsboro and Downtown Goldsboro Development Corporation will conduct bi-weekly project
updates that can be accessed on the City’s website, Facebook page and every evening at 6:30 p.m. on WGTV channel 10. The community is encouraged to send in their questions about the project by visiting the Streetscape link on the City’s homepage. Questions will be answered during bi-weekly project updates. The community can also view real-time project progress via a live webcam by visiting the City’s homepage.
Project construction is scheduled to be completed October 15, 2012. For project updates and detailed Center Street Streetscape Project information, please visit: ci.goldsboro.nc.us.
