I took Mom and Dad up the Mount Roberts Tram in Downtown Juneau, Alaska yesterday and boy did we have a great time! Although hesitant at first, I was able to herd the adventuresome pair to the top of a snow covered ridge. Being that none of us were wearing proper footwear for this somewhat rugged trek, I made an executive decision that would soon find us sliding down the face of the mountain on our backs. I, of course, took it upon myself to check the stability of the snowpack by ascending the slippery slope first. It was a pleasant yet, uneventful slide down. Dad followed; again pleasant yet, uneventful. Mom on the other hand had plans of her own. Dressed in a deceptively fast green down jacket she proceeded to show off her amazing acrobatic skills with what amounted to five summersaults, two front flips and a graceful belly slide across the last fifty or so yards of the slope. It was a spectacle to all fifty of the camera wielding Asian tourists that were present, and good times were had by all.
