IslandWood, a state of the art environmental learning center in the Pacific Northwest, was only 2 years old. How could it create a national media presence through video?
Teachings of the Tree People: The Work of Bruce Miller was Katie's answer. Exploring themes of cultural and biological diversity, teaching through mentorship, and appreciation of the natural world, this one-hour documentary brought IslandWood's core themes to national audiences. It was featured on public television, at the United Nations, the Smithsonian, the Seattle Art Museum, the National Geographic All-Road Film Festival and nominated Best Feature Documentary at the American Indian Film Festival.
