An experimental film inspired by the seventeenth-century Dutch still life genre vanitas, which stresses the transience of life's materiality, along with Roland Barthes's sensibility that each photograph is a captured death of history. By combining the fleeting nature of each sensibility, what becomes a simple notion of duration's fleeting elapse turns into the failure to capture an accurate exposure, a mis-measure of light in the waking present tense of unfolded time. Death be to the image; may she wilt in her duration.
