We received our Nikon D4 last week and took it out for an unplanned night-time test shoot. This is an impromptu behind the scenes video we made along the way.
We're not overly technical people so this is not a scientific test. It's just an everyday shoot in some quite dark lighting situations. We just wanted to have some fun with the camera and test out the low light performance.
Almost all the photos were shot at 6,400 ISO with a few of them at 8,000 ISO. There's one image in there at 1,600 ISO.
The D4 is pretty amazing in low light. Above 6,400 ISO and it is seeing in the dark. Our eyes could barely make out our friend Rainee's face but the D4 had no issues.
The video was shot at 6,400 ISO with the D4 and D800, and a few different lenses - 24-70mm f2.8, 35mm f1.4 and 50mm f1.4.
