The floating face. The colour-drained eyes. The red, garish lips. Gradual splatterings of colour on a blank canvas, a canvas once naive and now tainted. She gets chased by the box, which crawls sneakily over her face; will you continue to wince in the presence of this box or grasp it between your thumb and finger? The bare face becomes human and hair grows out of the darkness, is it one that you recognise, is it your own?
While this video is nourished by some conceptual thought, it was mostly intended to be ambiguous and thought-provoking, filled with spontaneity. After three years of theory-driven composition, all I wanted to do was sit down at my laptop and let my inner arty monster explode onto the screen. 'Delight' is an experimental yet minimal creation that combines an ethereal soundscape with striking, and largely disturbing, visuals.
It's weird, but so were bicycles at first.
