Electronic material from January 25, 2020 SFPD arrest at Atoll Circle
The following material includes officer body-worn camera footage and cell phone video of an arrest that took place at Atoll Circle on January 25, 2020.
The San Francisco Police Department adopted Body-Worn Camera (BWC) technology in 2016 as part of its commitment to transparency and accountability to the people it serves. The use of these devices intends to document statements and events during the course of incidents, and increase public confidence in community policing by creating an impartial record of interactions between San Francisco police officers and the public.
Pursuant to 6254(f) of the California Government Code, portions of Body-Worn Camera video are being released herein consistent with SFPD’s BWC Policy. The release of this material and related information should not be understood to provide evidence that a conclusion has been reached in any internal or external investigation. As with all evidence, video evidence from body-worn cameras may contribute to an understanding of an event or interaction, but to fully understand an encounter or an event, the consideration of other evidence may be warranted.
The arrest depicted here is being reviewed by the SFPD Internal Affairs Division and the San Francisco Department of Police Accountability.
