Within this current social media tornado, a formidable privacy industry has emerged of privacy officers, researchers, advocates, and regulators. But is there risk in such a concentrated privacy industry? Should privacy be a narrowly held priesthood or a lay skill-set? Does such concentration isolate the privacy professional from the rapid pace of innovation? If we aren’t all yet privacy geeks, should we be?
