WHO WE HEARD FROM:

Steven Donziger, a human rights and environmental attorney called a man of “Herculean tenacity” by BusinessWeek, is known for leading one of the most successful corporate accountability legal cases in history, resulting in a landmark $9.5 billion environmental judgment against Chevron on behalf of Indigenous peoples and local communities in Ecuador’s Amazon. This recently resulted in Steven’s “house arrest” after he was hit with a questionable criminal contempt charge for refusing to turn over his confidential case file to Chevron. Earlier this month, 29 Nobel laureates spoke out demanding Steven’s release and 475 lawyers and organizations around the world signed a letter of support.
