Meen(fish in Tamil and in Sanskrit). The film explores the age-old relationship of man and fish. A visual journey following the fish inland. The film captures the casual violence with which we deal with the fish – almost as if they don’t live, as if they never did. We see glimpses of the violence the men who catch the fish live with, as a part of their lives go into the sea everyday. All in all, it is a pretty rough and mean business.
The film was shot as a part of a Film Awareness Program under Gothenburg University and Suchitra CFD, Bangalore in 2012.
