Human life is fleeting.
Yet why should it be perceived as anything less beautiful?
For does life's fragility and temporal limitations not raise its beauty and worth?
Transience explores our complex relationship with the inevitable fading nature of life. This unavoidable progression raises a number of conflicting emotions within us, lacing the beauty and enjoyment of life with a foretaste of mourning.
This film captures the fifteen-hour lifespan of a sculptural object. From the glistening of a water droplet to the decay and wilting of a flower, each moment is unique. Giving us a beautiful yet melancholic glimpse into the limitations of our fleeting life. The progression of this sculpture serves as a reminder towards the arrogance of humanity, that we are all transient, just like any other living organism.
