This is a 16mm Film Production for my course at Southampton University.
Ted Lyons is an honest working class Englishman. He loves and protects his community. However as multiculturalism threatens the sanctity of his British life, Ted realizes that sometimes you need to protect people from themselves.
Shot as a homage to propaganda, Empire is a dark sarcastic satirical comedy looking at life and conflict in multicultural England.
The film was shot entirely on Bolex H16 Reflex 16mm cameras on a variety of film stocks. The final image quality has not been tampered with and the film was made using only 400ft of 16mm film (approximately 11 minutes of raw footage.) This is the first time any of us had used 16mm film and we are pleasantly surprised by the results.
