44 people are now under arrest following Operation Last Judgement. The 6-month undercover operation across the county targeted suspected car thieves. Some of the suspects are linked to gangs, home burglaries, and mail theft. During the crackdown, undercover deputies and officers purchased stolen cars, drugs and weapons at locations throughout San Diego County. Evidence seized during the operation includes 84 stolen cars valued at $540,000, 17 firearms and drugs.
The San Diego Sheriff's is a member of the Regional Auto Theft Task Force.
