This simulation of flooding in the Potomac River Basin in Washington, D.C. was presented as part of a workshop on the planning impacts of climate change.

The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG) hosted a workshop focusing on the water, land use, and transportation planning implications of potential changes in precipitation patterns, sea level rise, flooding, and water quality in metropolitan Washington.

The Climate Impacts Symposium (mwcog.org/environment/climate/adaptation.asp) is a continuation of COG’s focus on tracking the region’s progress towards meeting its Climate and Energy Goals (bit.ly/climate_report), and to help metropolitan Washington adapt to the effects of climate change (bit.ly/climate_adaptation_dc).
