'Pile of Scrap'
Artwork 'Pile of Scrap' is a 23 piece modular bronze sculpture, each piece has been individually hand crafted by the artist. It is designed so that is can be moved around and the pieces can take up different positions and configurations as a whole. Intended to give a potentially endless array of different sculptural forms, created from the one collection. 'Pile of Scrap' was taken from a 5 part series of artworks created to explore my experience of grief and loss. It relates to the continual shifting of emotions and perspectives I experienced, and the struggle to attempt to re-fashion a new life from what is left. This artwork was exhibited in the Oct- Nov 2011 Sculpture by the Sea (inside) where artists who exhibit in their small scale artworks along with their larger works exhibited along the Sydney coastline, between Bondi and Tamarama beach. 'Pile of Scrap' was exhibited along with my inflatable artwork, 'Knotted as i remembered'. 'Pile of Scrap' was recently exhibited in exhibition in the opening of gallery MCLEMOI, Sydney, alongside American contemporary artist Luis Gispert in a show called "Deception" May- June 2012.
