Carl Sagan was a visionary in bringing an appreciation and greater understanding of science to the masses, and has certainly been a personal inspiration. Neil deGrasse Tyson talks of the importance of fostering interest in the STEM fields largely through reinvigorating NASA's space program, but are there any other ways to excite and encourage new generations to pursue scientific educations and careers?
