This is the story of the Basque children who were sent to exile to England during the Spanish Civil War, after the bombing of Guernica. Some of them stayed in the UK and lived there as adults, going through the Second World War. Others went back to their families in the Basque Country and the miseries of the post war. Using the commemoration of their arrival 70 years after, to a small town in the South of England, we hear the real story from their survivors, now all of them grandparents.
I developed the idea of this documentary, and also wrote and directed it. But they, the "children", are the real protagonists.
