Last week we visited the New Yorker artist Elizabeth Tubergen at her studio, where she chatted with us about her project during her fellowship. Focussing hereby on monuments and memories, the artist explains how she relates these topics to Berlin, as a history loaded city. In her current artwork, the artist uses cardboard pieces shaped in the form of the Soviet War Memorial at Treptower Park, turning them into one of her sculptural artwork. Get to see how she develops her artwork and creates an artistical examination on memorialization and monuments.
Elizabeth is granted by the Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung and by Remy Hort Mann Foundation.
