The work emerged from documentation of a research process with the performance group Nextstop in St Petersburg, Russia. Sharing an interest in the non-binary body and the neglected history of non-binary logic in the late Russian
Empire, Katya Chadina and Katya Pomelova of Nextstop and I held a series of research
performances in which we co-created scores from archival traces of unfinished logical
investigations interested in challenging binarism in logic (that A is B, or A is not B, and there
is no third option) in the late 19th century. Inspired by these texts’ use of examples from
dailiness, we collected sounds from our shared dailiness and used it to curate the research
space and compose the research process.
