This is a 10 second film created for the Toronto Animation and Image Society (TAIS)'s annual Anijam call-for-entries. The theme for 2012 was "Technical Difficulties" and was subject to wide interpretation.
This is the melancholic tale of an old English gentle-owl, Mr. Beaksworth, who is sitting down to tea, in his cosy country cottage. The table is set and the tea is ready, but there is a technical difficulty: He realizes that this once cherished ritual has lost its meaning without the company of his beloved wife, Mrs. Beaksworth. He is a heartbroken, and utterly unable to summon interest in his tea.
It was co-created with my husband, Richard Owen, under our joint-venture title of "RichBerds Animation".
I am proud to say that Mr. Beaksworth won the Audience Choice awards at the Anijam screening!
