The Poás Volcano, is an active stratovolcano in central Costa Rica. There are two crater lakes near the summit. The northern lake is known as the Laguna Caliente ("hot lagoon") and is located at a height of 2,300 m in a crater approximately 1.7 km wide and 290–300 m deep.
Arenal Volcano, in Spanish Volcán Arenal, is an active andesitic stratovolcano in north-western Costa Rica around 90 km northwest of San José. Arenal was Costa Rica's most active volcano until 2010, and one of the ten most active volcanoes in the world. With its perfect conical shape it allows breathtaking views of volcanic action in the summit.
