This film was made as part of a community heritage project, completed in 2012.
It documents the story of Birmingham's first Black Baptist minister, Revd Peter Thomas Stanford.
Stanford was born into slavery in the American South. This film describes his incredible life story.
The film also reflects on the Highgate landscape, local archive collections, the importance
of Black history in Birmingham, and the life of the church today.
We hope you enjoy our film.
Please contact the Highgate Baptist Church for any further information.
Many thanks to everyone who helped with the project and the film.
