Our V3 Reusable Cloth Face Mask (tombihn.com/products/3layermask) is made with three layers of fabric; an outermost layer of 65% polyester / 35% cotton blend; a middle layer of 100% Combed Cotton Twill; and an innermost / face layer of 100% Combed Cotton Twill.
The V3 features a unique new design that's a good option for people who want to sing, chant, open their mouths wide to laugh or who have facial hair or beards. Most (but not all) people will find they can open their mouths really wide without this mask slipping off the nose or above the chin. If that sounds good to you, make sure you order the correct size (and err on the side of larger rather than smaller if you're in-between sizes) and make sure you tighten the ear loops so they're snug (snug, but not too tight!)
The ear loops and neck strap of the V3 are adjustable for a customized fit. The material we use for the ear loops is comfortable, conforming, and stretchy — but it’s not the scratchy elastic that’s typically found on masks.
On June 5th 2020, the W.H.O. issued the following guidance as part of When and How To Wear Masks:
"The ideal combination of material for non-medical masks should include three layers as follows: 1) an innermost layer of a hydrophilic material (e.g. cotton or cotton blends); 2), an outermost layer made of hydrophobic material (e.g., polypropylene, polyester, or their blends) which may limit external contamination from penetration through to the wearer’s nose and mouth; 3) a middle hydrophobic layer of synthetic non-woven material such as polyproplylene or a cotton layer which may enhance filtration or retain droplets."
Please note that you may find 3 layers of fabric to be slightly warmer than 2 layers of fabric.
