Only a small fraction of a museum's collection is publicly displayed at any time, but that doesn't mean the works out of sight can't resonate today. As Newcomb and other museums have had to close our doors to the public, it gives us the opportunity and time to look at works tucked away in flat files, shelves, archival boxes and glass cases. In this short video, the museum's interpretation coordinator, Tom Friel, takes a look at the various prints in the collection by John James Audubon, and how details in the artist's life inform how we see his work.
