SPRIKK office for architecture
SPRIKK's three founding partners got to know each other at the technical universities of Delft and Berlin and
all worked at established architectural firms as KCAP (Kees Christiaanse Architects & Planners), O.M.A.,
Koen van Velsen and a number of other offices. Johan van Sprundel and Max Rink both had their own
independent firms before joining forces at the end of 2008. Soon after they had gained their first joint
commission Klaas Kresse joined the company. Since then SPRIKK has worked on projects that range from
furniture design to interiors and single family houses to designs for large urban contexts and landscapes.
A recurring factor in SPRIKK's work is the delicate context in which many of their designs are set. Whether
this is a listed building or a nature reserve, by subtle design, an eye for detail and technical ingenuity
solutions are carefully crafted that unite the old and new parts harmoniously. From the early design stages
the feasibility of these solutions is constantly assessed. For SPRIKK close cooperation with professionals
from other fields is indispensible to finding the right answer. SPRIKK prides themselves in finding and
involving the most suitable parties for the job and establishing and maintaining communications between all
collaborators involved in the building process. Herein SPRIKK plays the main roll and takes on as many
other parts if necessary or desirable to reach the best possible result.
In order to control every aspect of the process of designing and to gain and building SPRIKK has recently
started to initiate their own projects. In this way SPRIKK intends to seize even more control of the quality of
the architecture they produce.
Klaas Kresse has left the company at the end of 2011 to found his own firm.
From it's base in Rotterdam SPRIKK is currently working with two staff members on various commissions.
