I modeled this character using Blender (to me, it's easier than modeling in Maya for organic models). I used edge-loop modeling with a rough sketch for reference. It took me about a week to do, sporadically working on it.
This character will be the main character in my thesis animation short. The sphere on her chest is her "soul," which is necessary to show due to the world that she lives in. I look forward to the next step--rigging and creating all of the blendshapes for her facial animation.
