Old Beaupre Castle
South Wales, Great Britain
Built in the gentle valley of the river Thaw, Old Beaupre was a heavily fortified medieval house rather than a castle. It was extensively rebuilt during Tudor times.
Although left to ruin for some time, its internal storeyed porch is an impressive feature. It is a classical three tier greek ornamemted design incorporating the bassett coat of arms with detailed frieze and cornicing.
It remains well preserved and still remains an impressive sight to any visitors.
Old Beaupre is now under the conservation care of CADW
