Sheep crabs are a type of spider crab, and are the largest species of crab found on the California coast. We see them frequently on our reefs and sometimes we get to witness some interesting (attempted) mating behavior. Shot at Anacapa and Santa Cruz Islands, CA in June-July 2012 and April 2013.
