Michael Krahe, PhD, Executive Director and Founder of the Academy of Clinical Sleep Disorders Disciplines discusses the consortium's key initiatives are helping those dentists treating obstructive sleep apnea and how he is creating awareness in the political arena.

The initiative of the consortium is to advocate for dentists who are doing dental sleep medicine through 3 key initiatives in the public, professional and insurance arenas.

In meeting with Congressman Ben Quayle of Arizona, Michael discussed the role dentists can play in his healthcare reform initiatives, such as bringing the cost of healthcare down with an emphasis on healthcare savings accounts and a reduction of healthcare premiums.

The next ACSDD conference will be held at the Ritz Carlton in Phoenix, Arizona on October 19 and 20 and will be focusing on the emerging interest in healthcare as it applies to the sleep disordered-breathing patient.

The Academy of Clinical Sleep Disorders Disciplines is a leader in education for practitioners treating sleep disorders and has joined with Sleep Better TV. For more information, visit acsdd.org and sleepbetter.tv.
