RWB/RAUH-Welt BEGRIFF is a Porsche tuner located in Japan. RWB has combined Japanese and Euro tuning elements with a heavily influenced motorsport style, creating the distinct RWB style for various years of the Porsche 911 chassis. Starting off as a small countryside body-shop in Chiba-Ken owned and operated by Nakai San, RAUH-Welt 911's are are built for both the streets and racing circuits of Japan. The almost instant cult following for his brand has allowed Nakai to expand his company internationally and significantly increase production. At this time, RWB creates only one RWB Porsche for each customer and Nakai's services are in high demand. Expect to see even more exciting projects come from RWB in the upcoming years.
I got the call from Canibeat to shoot the new RWB USA demo car while at Wuste in Las Vegas. Everyone was on a tight schedule and I did not want to miss an opportunity to shoot a car like this. Without having a car, I was able to get in contact with all parties quickly and get a taxi to transport me to the current location of the RWB USA guys. The extreme temperatures of where we shot really pushed my camera and I to the max. It was hitting up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit on the asphalt! Being my first visit to Las Vegas, it was difficult to find reasonable spots to shoot at in such a short period of time. Luckily, we were able to scope out some good local spots to get the shots that I wanted. As challenging as it was to fit this entire shoot in under an hour with minimal gear, I am really excited about the final product. It was great to finally meet the RWB USA guys and I hope that I will get the opportunity to work with them again very soon.
Shot with a Canon 5dmkii, Carl Zeiss 50mm 1.4, and tripod. That's it.
