Chris Ofili talks about the inspiration for the poster he created for the London 2012 Olympics.
I shot all of it myself because of the spontaneity involved in creating the film and the fact that Chris is not really keen on being interviewed.
On that October 2011 evening when he finished the poster we were liming in his Port of Spain studio. It was all spontaneous, we 5 happened to all be in Port of Spain and there was a curfew on at the time. We were all enjoying the feeling of standing in the yard, under the stars, out in the open. He suddenly asked: Tracy, do you have your camera? Come and shoot this.
I'm happy to have been there to capture the moment.
The music was added in post-production but is indicative of the playlist in the studio.
