My name is Pim Verest and I was born in a shoebox! The Verest family has been in the shoe business since 1855. My great-grandfather was a shoemaker and, more than 100 years later, my father opened his own shoe-store. It was in this store that I fell in love with shoes.I took over the business last year and, although I loved my work, there were two things bothering me.
First, it seemed to me that the art of shoe making and the love and devotion that went into it had got lost over the years. Due to mass-production, most products these days look and feel the same, have lost their ‘soul’ and are forced on you by clever marketing, whereas I want to offer products that complement who you are.
Secondly, I was starting to miss my hobby of drawing and painting. So, that was when I decided to combine my two passions by creating real, authentically hand-finished shoes. A new brand was born: “Mano Macchiato” by Pim Verest. Real Italian shoes hand finished precisely to your liking.
So, please feel free to drop in, have a drink and be amazed… Let’s make your shoes together.
