This is an interview with Roy Head, former Series Editor at UNTV in Zagreb, Croatia.
The interview was made as part of the research for my MA project at De Montfort University and will be used as material towards my final project presentation next year. My MA is in "Documentary Film in International Development", part of the MA in Humanities by Independent Study programme.
In this film I discuss the use of film by the UN as part of the UNPROFOR peace keeping and humanitarian mission in the former Yugoslavia. I worked a documentary cameraman for UNTV between 1994-1995 under Roy Head where we produced hundreds of hours of television for both the local and international TV networks. I was interested to find out more about how the project was conceived and what impact it had. Roy gives some pretty frank answers and a great insight into the decision making process at the UN.
The UNTV archive is now in the Imperial War Museum in London.
This film is ungraded, with no audio dub. All shot on the Panasonic HPX250.
