In Barcelona's neighborhood of Gracia, there is a center for cultural cooperation. Part (CSA) Organic grocery co-op, part meeting center, part jazz club, Cabaret and Rock'n'Roll bar. I was fortunate enough to become friends with the people who run the center right when they were in search for an artist to help them create a mural on the outside of their building in time for their 10-Year Anniversary block party celebration. Big thanks to Gina Vila came up with with concept and I simple illustrated it in a very simple silhouette style. The words an images translate to: WHEN YOU WATER IDEAS... IT RAINS CRITICAL THINKING...AND ALTERNATIVES GROW.
Much thanks to Edwin Toon for helping to photograph as well as paint, to Amanda for entertaining my daughters, Thank you to Gina and Mariona for painting and working hard as well as everyone involved from the center and surrounding street corners. Thanks for the cold beers, double-kisses, friendly gestures and friendship. What a great way to to welcome an outsider like myself into their city. Thank you!! Moltos Gracia!
