audio sculpture “aurora”
mechanical midnight aurora. A scheme created from light, sound and data.
What is behind the composition?
It all starts with a set of dots that move on a spherical shape. Over time the path that these points describe is traced and used to form tubes, which produces an organic appearance. Using spectral analysis the music is processed into an image of its frequencies. This grayscale image is texture mapped onto the geometry of the tubes and used to make a color lookup from different color palettes, producing colored gradients that react to music.
From the combination of geometric shapes and the music a spheric, dreamy audiosculpture is created.
