Each year the Grand Canyon National Park hosts a star party where amateur astronomers from all over the country arrive to set up their telescopes so that visitors to the canyon can view objects in the sky. The event is very popular and hundreds of people attend. The grand canyon offers clear air and dark skies which provide perfect conditions for astronomical viewing. The park is an interesting place. You can meet people there from all over the world, the rangers are friendly and helpful, and the scenery beyond compare.
