In this intro class, you will learn to warp your loom, weave, weaving terminology, weaving stitches to add texture to your work, changing/adding yarn and finishing off your piece of art. We will talk about what inspires your work and creating a color story.

Supplies needed for this workshop are:
• 1 ball of super bulky yarn
• 1 ball of bulky yarn
• 1 ball of weaving warp thread or
• Mini-loom* or DIY loom (workshop will include how to make DIY loom - cardboard and tape needed)
• Pair of scissors
• Tape
• 1 2-inch knitting needle
• 1 popsicle stick
Cynthia Gutierrez-Krapp, native-born El Pasoan, received her AAS from the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. Gutierrez-Krapp studied traditional beading at the American Indian Community House in NYC. She has worked as the Window Display Artist for Purl Soho, Anthropologie and American Girl place in NYC, taught group and private classes in NYC and El Paso in weaving, bead weaving and embroidery as art at the El Paso Museum of Art. She created Pins & Needles and Aghaaˈ Hat Co. when she returned to El Paso two years ago. She is the only hat maker in El Paso, Texas
