MT HOTHAM CHURCH - THE BEGINNING 2012.
I have been able to get a bus driving job up in the Mt Hotham Resort so that: 1. I can afford to live up in the snow; 2. I can get cheap accommodation as a staffer that is a fraction the cost of the normal accommodation rates; 3. I get to meet hundreds of people every day; and 4. I look really cool in my bus driver's uniform.
I don't own the bus (the resort owns it), I just drive it for the resort *smile*.
Because the job is shift work, I am not always able to run regular, weekly church meetings when my bus driving schedule varies from week-to-week....plus, if there is a sudden influx of people at the resort, I might be called up to drive at a moment's notice. I am working my way around this by finding other Christian staffers who are really keen to be part of Mt Hotham Church and so they are willing to run a church meeting in my absence.....so far, my work schedule and church activities haven't clashed *whew*.
I really enjoy doing the work because each time I drive up and down the mountain, I get to see the beautiful countryside - it is like I am sight-seeing all day long. The rumbling noise that you hear when the bus is moving along is not the wheels about to fall off, but rather the snow chains on the bitumen road (it isn't as loud when there is snow on the road).
Sorry for the jecky video and out-of-sync audio....everything is fine on the video clip I uploaded so it must the the vimeo play-back that has caused this to happen.
