On 9 August 2020, the Universal Peace Federation, through its International Summit Council for Peace (ISCP), organized a world level « Rally of Hope » to promote values of interdepend-ence, mutual prosperity and universal values.
Several heads of state from Africa, the Americas, Europe and Asia offered their remarks. This rally provided a forum for current and former heads of state and government to deliberate on ways to overcome or mitigate the challenges we face in the 21st century, from pandemics, to climate change, conflict and poverty.
The overall theme of the Rally of Hope was “The Firm Establishment of a Heavenly Unified World: Interdependence, Mutual Prosperity and Universal Values.” A backgrounder on the theme follows below as an addendum.
Opening with a welcoming speech by former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, the program featured inspirational messages from current and former heads of state from around the world, spell-binding entertainment, and a heartfelt message of hope from UPF Founder Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, affectionately called the “Mother of Peace.”.
