The General Convention of the Episcopal Church is one of the largest legislative bodies in the world. Meeting every 3 years to consider the issues facing the church, General Convention has also been described as part celebration and part family reunion.
In this video, Sally Johnson, co-chair of Minnesota's deputation to General Convention, gives an overview of General Convention as she has experienced it over the years.
Sally has been a part of the Episcopal Church in Minnesota her entire life. She is the Co-Chair of the Deputation (her 7th from Minnesota) and a member of St. John the Baptist in Minneapolis. She has served the diocese as President of the University Episcopal Community, Vice President of Episcopal Community Services and as Chancellor to Bishops Anderson and Jelinek. She has served as the Chancellor to the President of the House of Deputies for the past six years. She works for the Church Pension Group in the areas of safe church, risk management and the Canons of the Church.
