“(re)Birth” is an intimate, interactive exploration of the human capacity for creativity and regeneration. In this work, dynamic movement, eclectic music and projected images intersect; universal truths find expression in the modern day baby shower; and the notion of giving birth represents all we hope to bring into being.
Shown here, "debate: weighting our options", is one section of the evening-length work. It was performed at Real Art Ways and online as part of Low Lives 3, a live streaming international performance exhibit curated by Jorge Rojas.
Since this performance in 2011, (re)Birth has now moved to its 3rd and final stage of development. Now with a cast of 4, characters and the relationship between them have deepened, and the work has returned to its intimate, interactive roots through performances in salon for decidedly small audiences and gallery spaces.
