Jesus told amazing parables--stories with a point—to get us to look at the world, look at God and look at ourselves through a different lens. They were simple stories…but stories intended to surprise you or shock you into seeing life differently. We normally live in a world that says little things don’t matter, it’s the big choices, the big events that shape the world and shape history. But Jesus says, “hold on a minute—you aren’t seeing correctly.” God’s work in the world—little moments of grace, the Holy Spirit moving a person to an act of kindness when they would rather just focus on themselves—seems like the tiniest of things. Insignificant, not worthy of mention. But Jesus says it is as the KoG is planted in this world, big impacts come, the world gets changed, many get blessed. Little doesn’t stay little—it becomes the “greatest” of all impacts. Can Jesus change our perspective today?
