Yaktal was the ceremony of the Kaweskar when a whale grounded on the beach and brought abundant food and resources to the southern channels of Patagonia and this ancient canoe ethnic.
This film follows an approximately 2,500-mile boat journey deep into the last unexplored corner of Chile, the Taitao Peninsula, facing an extreme ocean and unpredictable weather. Twenty days in the wild, cut off from outside communication, allows the three surfers to contrast the astonishing natural surroundings and one of the biggest mysteries: the largest whale stranding ever recorded.
