This is footage I shot on two seperate dive sites off of Pensacoal Florida.
Much of the Gulf of Mexico is a desert wasteland, except where there are wrecks or artificial reefs on the bottom. The areas in this video are spots where the sand has been swept away - revealing the limestone underneath. You may notice the perfectly round holes in the rock. These are rumored to be "timberholes" ...holes left behind when pre-historic trees rotted away - leaving the holes in the limestone. These holes now sit below 120 feet of water.
