This 8mm film, taken by my father, is of Sir Donald Campbell's Bluebird car and jet boat as they travelled up Glen Osmond Road in Adelaide, South Australia 1963. They stopped by the side of the road for a break on their way through the city, and he managed to capture these images there. This was the first year of the campaign to break the land and water speed records, and would have been around the March time frame. Sir Donald took the Bluebird north up to Lake Eyre, one of the worlds largest (usually dry) salt lakes, to make his attempt at the world land speed record at the time.
