No matter where we live, our actions on land can have a negative impact water quality. Sometimes, we can inadvertently introduce excess nutrients into a lake ecosystem that spur excessive growth of plants and algae. These nutrients are introduced to the lake by stormwater runoff. There are simple techniques that we all can implement to reduce stormwater runoff from reaching a waterbody and impacting our water quality.
