Summary: Our aim is building intercultural communicative competence elements into curriculum and classroom management practices so that teachers can help their students become interculturally competent. One way to do this is to consider ‘intercultural citizenship’ as a useful concept for relating national and international citizenship, where education has to take a wider perspective, involving engagement with people of other forms of life or cultures.
