The video documents the days spent in Utrecht, during an art residency in the city (between July and August 2011) held by the Impakt Festival. The city landscape gains a subjective visual approach and reflects the different ways ones could perceive commonplaces in The Netherlands. As the surfaces give way to the involvement with the surroundings and its contexts, the scenes tend to oscillate and vary between the visible or the imagined, between added or subtracted details in the images.
The video reflects the Impakt Festival theme of 2011, ‘The Right to Know’, which addresses the new shades of privacy in times of WikiLeaks and pervasive communication systems.
